Dedicated research projects

The recent developments of the RHIZOtest, whether for the fundamental or applied aspects, were based on two dedicated research projects, NormaRHIZO and RHIZOlab. Use of the RHIZOtest is currently continuing in other projects.

The dual purpose of the NormaRHIZO project (2010-2013) was to enhance knowledge on the dynamics of trace elements in the rhizosphere using the RHIZOtest system, and to render the RHIZOtest operational with a view to obtaining standardization of the methodology and the tool by ISO (International Organization for Standardization).

In support of the NormaRHIZO project, the purpose of the RHIZOlab project (2012) was to validate the RHIZOtest by carrying out an international round robin test. With this ultimate validation stage, it was possible to finalize the development of the RHIZOtest as a tool for assessing the risks of trace element phytoavailability.
